Queens View Harbour Care Home Receives Practice Learning Environment Team Award 2025
Queens View Harbour Care Home is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Practice Learning Environment Team Award 2025, recognising the home’s outstanding commitment to supporting student nurses and creating a positive learning environment.
The team was nominated by student nurse Jenni McKiggan, who completed a 15-week management placement at the home. In her nomination, Jenni highlighted the dedication and encouragement she received from the entire team throughout her placement.
Jenni said: “Every nurse and member of staff I have the pleasure of working with on my 15 week management placement have been so supportive and shown me how to provide excellent care. I truly feel that I was accepted as part of the team here and will miss working here.”
Queens View Harbour Care Home places a strong emphasis on supporting the development of future healthcare professionals. The care and nursing team work closely with students during their placements, helping them build confidence, develop practical skills, and gain valuable real-world experience in a supportive environment.
Students are welcomed into the team from their very first day and encouraged to fully participate in daily life within the home. Several students who have completed placements at Queens View Harbour have chosen to continue working with the home on its staff bank, maintaining their connection with the team and residents.
The home’s leadership team includes Home Manager Gemma Boyle, alongside Unit Managers Elaine Hughes and Patricia Morgan, supported by a dedicated care and nursing team who are passionate about both resident care and mentoring the next generation of nurses.
Receiving the Practice Learning Environment Team Award highlights the commitment of the entire Queens View Harbour team to high-quality care, professional development, and nurturing future healthcare talent.
