Arts & Crafts

Group activities provide an excellent opportunity to meet new people, acquire new skills, or perhaps even make steps towards mastering an old one. Our Activities Coordinator is enthusiastic about developing new and interesting activities, such as our weekly Arts & Crafts workshops. Residents can participate in a variety of crafts, ranging from painting and colouring to flower arranging.

Allowing people to express themselves creatively has a range of mental and physical benefits, and when paired with the social aspect that these group activities bring, residents are sure to have a wonderful time and feel successful after participating in our Arts & Crafts sessions.

Creativity Benefits All

Our teams have always worked hard to establish an engaging and diversified activity programme that will keep all residents motivated and ready to face the challenges of each day. We believe that art therapy, in its various forms, benefits the well-being of senior citizens. Residents, employees, loved ones, and the broader community can all benefit from group activities. Our staff has seen firsthand how useful Arts & Crafts programmes are to our residents, as our residents always leave our sessions feeling lighter and happier.

Activity Programmes Designed with Purpose

Every activity at Queens View Harbour Care Home has been created with all of our residents in mind, regardless of their ability. Residents are encouraged to participate in all activities in a safe and controlled manner, since this helps them to try new things and learn new brand new abilities they might not have expected previously, increasing their total self-confidence and allowing them to live a more fulfilling life. All of our programmes have been meticulously organised to meet the needs of our residents, with the goal of making everyone happy.

Arts & Crafts FAQs

We recognise that before committing to moving into a new home, potential residents and their loved ones will want to learn everything they can about what activities happen on a daily basis while living at Queens View Harbour. Here are the top three questions people have regarding Arts & Crafts. If you have any additional queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Every Arts & Crafts class focuses on a particular topic, such as flower arranging or creating gorgeous ornaments that either our residents can keep in their room or in the communal areas of the home. Our Activities Coordinator goes above and beyond to make each session a one-of-a-kind experience. Our residents have been known to previously create decorations and a ‘selfie board’ to really kick off the Jubilee celebrations.

Residents have complete control over the creations they make. They can display it in their room or give it to someone they care about as a present. Residents can also display their artwork throughout the house for everyone to see.

All of the activities that residents partake in will be included in the weekly overall care facility charge. There are also art supplies included.
