Ringing in 2026 with Style

New Year at Queens View Harbour Care Home

At Hogmanay, residents, staff, and families gathered to toast to 2026 with a wee glass of Prosecco and the company of friends old and new. The highlight of the 31st December was a special performance by local piper Liam Rogers, whose stirring rendition of traditional tunes echoed beautifully throughout the home. The familiar sound of the bagpipes brought comfort, joy and brought back memories of past parties.

On New Years Day residents dressed for the occasion, with party hats and cheerful smiles all round. Our dining areas were decorated with festive centrepieces and tartan table runners. A traditional New Year’s meal was served and we all enjoyed hearty portions of steak pie, buttery mash and seasonal veg. We loved being able to invite family members to join the celebrations, and the room was soon filled with the soft clink of glasses and cheerful toasts.

No party is complete without a few sweet treats, and our kitchen team delivered once again. Plates of homemade shortbread and Scottish tablet were served alongside bubbly drinks, with our bar area turned into a cosy corner for conversation and cheer.

The party ended with music, dancing and a few good laughs. Some of our residents even took to the floor for a little boogie, dancing to the music of Archie Clark, who also joined us to help the event go with a bang. The sense of togetherness in the room was truly moving – a reminder of what care should feel like: connected, kind, and full of life.

Thank you to all who made the celebration so special, especially our wonderful residents, who bring warmth and joy to the home every day. If you’re looking for a care home that offers heartfelt companionship, memorable experiences and a true sense of community, we’d love to welcome you to Queens View Harbour.
